Bay Area jazz-funk ensemble Future Dead Ringers continues its rapid growth following the successful launch of its first residency at Cardiff and Cocktails in Campbell last December. Building on the strong response from audiences, the band is expanding its South Bay presence with a new bi-weekly residency beginning next Saturday at Good Karma Fine Ales and HiFi in downtown San Jose. The group will now perform every other Friday at Cardiff and every other Saturday at Good Karma, further establishing its footprint in the region’s live music scene.
The new residency will launch with a three-night run of performances next week: Thursday, 2/26 at The Last Round Tavern in San Jose, Friday at Cardiff and Cocktails, and Saturday’s finale at Good Karma Fine Ales and HiFi. All three performances will feature top-call drummer Dave Flores of the John Santos band, bringing added firepower to the band’s signature blend of funk, blues, and Latin jazz. The band will be playing exciting and upbeat funk, blues, and Latin jazz repertoire as well as several modern funk compositions by the saxophonist, Ken Moran.
